Music and Silence: The Passion and Protest of Pablo Casals

This is a beautiful book full of gorgeous art, significant text, intricate language, symbolism and  so much more. Mihaly shares with us a chunk of Casal's heart, coupled with beautiful words to explain and share the story, to remind us that our voice (and sometimes our silence) matters.  To remind us that sometimes we need to take a stand, and to remind us that hope is ever present.

Whew!  This piece brought tears to my eyes.  Hearing his passion as he cried out for peace is so moving.  And the piece entitled "The Birds" is the perfect accompaniment to this glorious book.  I will put additional pieces in the YouTube playlist, so feel free to grab a different one if this is not what you need for your setting, but wow!
